You may not be aware of the many challenges that men and women face during reentry after being incarcerated. Commonly, men and women attempting reentry face difficulties securing employment, finding clean, safe affordable housing, and obtaining numerous necessities that are essential during the process of reintegration.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, more than half (67.5%) of the persons annually released from prison in America are re-arrested within 3 years of their release from incarceration. Women and men returning from incarceration rarely have sufficient education, training or skill-sets that would enable them to obtain livable wage employment. Many of our women have difficulty obtaining minimum wage employment because most employers are still not “background friendly”.

As a direct response to meet the needs for education and on-the- job training of its clients, ODWIN has launched “Change A Life! Nehemiah Project”. This Project will provide Job Readiness training for men and women in retail sales, small business management, office administration, and accounting.

The Change A Life! Nehemiah Project also offers the following services:

Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears, and bows. After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people. “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, and your daughters, your wives and your homes”. Nehemiah 4:13,14
